SERVICES
SASHA Center groups are intended to assist African-American women experiencers of sexual assault in any context. Please give us a call to find out what groups are currently running.
More specifically, we accept all experiencers of sexual assault to our groups regardless of race or sexual orientation. However, for most of our groups you must live your life as a woman every day, be 16 years of age or older, and willing to provide some identifying information for our record keeping and adhere to confidentiality for the safety of others in group.
We NEVER ask people to disclose all the details of their sexual assault(s), however when you are comfortable and feel safe enough to do so, you may. Also, topics that may come up range from racism, hair textures, skin tones, food, police brutality, marginalization and the horrific history and negative impact of slavery on black people in the United States.
We also explore the resiliency of black people and use art and culture, dance and language to advance/enhance our discussions. Our facilitators are trained clinical therapists and can guide the discussions appropriately, however triggers are likely, as well as other dynamics that may be challenging.
We believe that healing work from sexual trauma requires self-reflection, growth and gaining a better understanding of the experiences of self and others. We make sure that you have all the tools and resources you need, and we make space for you to share what has worked for you, because after all, you are the expert of your own experiences.

SUPPORT PROGRAM
Each support group series is led and facilitated by a licensed clinical master’s level social worker and/or co-facilitated by a trained experiencer of sexual assault.
Experiencers can contact the agency directly to participate in groups and SASHA CENTER will take referrals from schools, agencies, organizations, police, private practitioners and community members. All participants must be 16 years or older to participate. Experiencers of date, marital or stranger rape, as well as adult survivors of incest are encouraged to join our groups.
