About the event
Come hear from the creators of Breaking Barriers: Working with African American Sexual Assault Survivors and the Black Women’s Triangulation of Rape Model. Through an ecological lens, this training examines the historical and systemic roots of sexual violence against Black women, the policies that have shaped access to justice, and the persistent barriers survivors face. Designed for advocates, clinicians, and community professionals, attendees will gain meaningful insights, practical strategies, and culturally grounded approaches to enhance their work and deepen their impact. A one-hour lunch and refreshments are included. Participants will also earn 2 Social Work CEUs approved through the Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence.
Designed for advocates, professionals, and community members, this 4-hour training will provide participants with practical tools to support Black experiencers with compassion, cultural awareness, and strength-based approaches.
